Congratulations to Pepper Tree Entertainment client Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri who won for “The Legend of Lady White Snake,” at the La Jolla Fashion Film Festival! The film won Best Picture, and Indrani collected 4 of the 8 awards — including Best Director, Best Fashion, and Best Special Effects.
In addition to being a film-maker, Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri is also internationally known for her iconic imagery and charitable work. Born in Calcutta, India, Indrani traveled the world as a fashion model before graduating from Princeton University with a magna cum laude with a degree in cultural anthropology. Indrani developed her photography career alongside partner Markus Klinko. Their imagery was discovered by David Bowie and Isabella Blow, and in time, other clients came to include Vanity Fair, Lancome, L’Oreal, Barneys, Nike and Pepsi, Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet, Eva Mendes, Lady Gaga, Beyonce Knowles, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez, Keanu Reeves, Will Smith, Jay-Z, Usher, Kanye West, and Ryan Seacrest amongst many other A-list entities and individuals.
Pepper Tree Entertainment (along with Pepper Law Group) is a key sponsor of the red-carpet, independent film premiere event for The Legend of Lady White Snake: A Tribute to Alexander Mcqueen starring fashion legend Daphne Guinness, directed by Pepper Tree Entertainment’s client Indrani and featuring creative direction/styling by Pepper Tree client GK Reid.
The short film featured GK Reid’s Genghis Khan fashion collection and was followed by a runway show of Reid’s original gown designs, a concert performed by the Grammy nominated Viva Girls and an exhibition of Markus Klinko and Indrani’s photography at the Angel Orensanz Foundation.
GK is best known for styling and designing fashions and accessories for Lady Gaga for a series of photographs in homage to Hello Kitty, for Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster (deluxe edition), Book of Gaga 2009, and for Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary campaign.
He has also designed fashions for and styled celebrity style icon Daphne Guinness for feature stories in the London Sunday Times, the New York Times Magazine, Muse Magazine, and The Observer. GK’s work was also central to the creation of an ad campaign which centered around Ms. Guinness’ Barneys New York window performance art piece. GK’s work was also featured in the “Daphne Guinness Exhibition” at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology museum from September through January 2012.

Reid is also responsible for Mariah Carey‘s style transformation for her best-selling album The Emancipation of Mimi and styled her perfume commercial directed by Peter Lindbergh. GK has also styled Tim Gunn for the cover of his book “Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality Taste and Style”, Ryan Seacrest, Kanye West, Usher, Elijah Woods, Val Kilmer, Puff Daddy for music videos, and David Bowie for several album covers and magazines including covers of Rolling Stone and GQ. Reid was executive producer and styled David Bowie’s music video for Valentine’s Day.

Pepper Tree Entertainment is proud to advise celebrity photographers and Bravo Network television stars Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri and Markus Klinko with the business, promotional and financial aspects of Indrani’s directorial debut for “The Legend of Lady White Snake,” the short film inspired by China’s beloved ancient romance/horror story, stars the Honorable Daphne Guinness as a snake demoness who has transformed herself into an enchanting maiden, in order to experience love. The film also features a poem provided by world-famous writer Neil Gaiman titled The Hidden Chamber as part of the director’s meditation on obsession, gender, metamorphosis and time, through multi-cultural poetry fragments and chthonic catharsis. Finally, the film is a tribute to the spirit of Alexander Mcqueen and will feature many of the late designer’s creations.
